GREENS CRITICIZE ARROGANT AND SELF SERVING RYANAIR BOSS

Friday, October 17th, 2008

The Green Party has criticised the demand by airline boss Michael O’Leary of Ryanair that the runway at George Best Belfast City Airport be extended

Brian Wilson MLAGreen Party Assembly Member Brian Wilson said: “Michael O’Leary makes his demands without consideration for the local residents and the impact this will have on the local environment. Extending the airport’s runway in order to assist the economic wellbeing of one business is unacceptable, especially when the local community has made it quite clear that it does not want the runway extended.  Mr. O’Leary is following an arrogant and self serving strategy.”
